Epic tome about 4 boys who become friends in college and stay friends as they travel through life. It's not an easy topic to read, but compelling none the less.
NOS4A2: A Novel by Joe Hill
I was late to the Joe Hill party. My husband read this book the minute it came out and kept insisting I read it. I finally picked it up off my to be read pile and couldn't put it down. Scary, funny, compelling and original. Must read, especially if you are fans of Stephen King and Dean Koontz!
Along the Infinite Sea by Beatriz Williams
The last in the Schuyler sisters saga, it will leave you spellbound as it weaves a compelling story connecting events from pre-war Europe to the 1960's in Miami. It was my favorite of the three, but I like all her books. Can be read first if you haven't read the first two!
The Lake House: A Novel by Kate Morton
Read all her books, you won't be sorry. Lake House is great addition to her collection. Great relationship, historical drama that eases you from the present to the past as it weaves its story into your heart.
A Song of Shadows: A Charlie Parker Thriller by John Connolly
A Charlie Parker novel, one of his best. But you really need to read them in order to maximize your enjoyment and understanding of his cast of continuing characters that are central to the story. Well worth the time and pleasure to do. Visit your local used book store and stock up, if you like your cop thriller with a twist of supernatural thrown in!
This Is Your Life, Harriet Chance! by Jonathan Evison
Written like the old TV show "This Is Your Life", fun, quick read.
Who Do You Love: A Novel by Jennifer Weiner
It's Jennifer Weiner at her best.
Broken Promise: A Thriller by Linwood Barclay
A Promise Falls novel that will be a good read only if you've read the other Promise Falls books. Not as good as other thriller authors, but worth a try if you love a good thriller/mystery.
The Glass Kitchen: A Novel of Sisters by Linda Francis Lee
Romance that surprised me, delightful read. I've loaned this book out to great reviews as well.
Perfect Touch by Elizabeth Lowell
If you are a fan of romantic suspense, Elizabeth Lowell is the author that will satisfy you. Great romance thread through the mystery.
In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume
Well, it was a Judy Blume book, but far from my favorite.
Those Girls: A Novel by Chevy Stevens
Another author I pre-order her upcoming book with high anticipation. Her novels are compelling and riveting, you can't put down. Great relationship drama with a secret and mystery that must be resolved.
Ruin Falls: A Novel by Jenny Milchman
I read Ruin Falls and loved it so much I picked up all her previous books and devoured them. Tight psychological thrillers you race through to find out what happens next.
Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica
Pretty Baby is her second book and just as intense as The Good Girl. Excellent psychological thrillers.
Blueprints: A Novel by Barbara Delinsky
Her earlier books were so good, then I hit a time where I didn't enjoy her books as much. Blueprints definitely puts her back on the favorite list!
Where They Found Her: A Novel by Kimberly McCreight
Great relationship dram that turns into a crime story. Reconstructing Amelia is even better, do we really know our children, can we trust our instincts?
The Sound of Glass by Karen White
Wonderful stories about women finding their way. Loved the book as I've loved all her books. A Long Time Gone and On Folly Beach are simply the best books ever.
Nemesis: An FBI Thriller by Catherine Coulter
Okay, I admit her FBI series are getting a little formalistic but you get so involved with her continuing characters it's like a warm, exciting visit with family and you have to find out how it ends!
The Bone Tree (Penn Cage) by Greg Iles
It's an epic and the second in a trilogy, Natchez Burning is the first. It's part of the Penn Gage series but could start with Natchez Burning. Such a good book and series, full of civil rights history in Old Mississippi. You simply can't put these books down as you race to the end and wait impatiently for the next one.
The Liar by Nora Roberts
I admit, she's is getting a little redundant, especially with her paperback series, but every once in awhile she hits it out of the park. She did with The Liar. Her early books are all worth a look. Also read The Collector.
