Michael Koryta

Compelling psychological thriller/mystery author who writes a compelling suspense story that you race to the finish.  Every character has a purpose and he keeps you guessing until the end.  His newest book Last Words was a stand alone thriller as well as Those Who Wish Me Dead. Those were excellent books.  His Lincoln Perry books are a must read as well.

Run don't walk to get Sugar Daddy, Blue Eyed Devil. Smooth Talking Stranger so you are ready for the final book, Brown Eyed Girl. Get ready to forget everything else while you immerse yourself in her wonderful foray into contemporary fiction. As a plus every one of her old historical books are as wonderful. She is just the best and I've never been disappointed in her books.

Sara Donati

Did you love “Last of the Mohicans” movie with Daniel Day Lewis?  If so, this series is a spin off imagining Hawkeye and Cora’s son Nathaniel and his life and adventures.  It sparks all the romance and adventure you can imagine and you will want to read one after the other.  This series will forever remain one of my favorites.  Every book in the series is excellent and continues the storyline as it also introduces new characters and tells their story.  You were sad to see it end, but she ended it in a very satisfying, sigh inducing way!  Into The Wilderness; Dawn on a Distant Shore; Lake In The Clouds; Fire Along The Sky; Queen of Swords; The Endless Forest.  Read in order to maximize your enjoyment!

Karen White

A terrific author, her novels are compelling and I’ve read them all.  Her books are ones that definitely get recommended and stay on my keepers shelf.  My personal favorites are A Long Time Gone (bookclub favorite); On Folly Beach; The Time Between; The Sound of Glass (a bookclub choice for this year).

Kate Morton

Her first book that absolutely blew me away was The Forgotten Garden, it’s a book you’ll read more than once and keep on your shelf forever.  Also loved The Secret Keeper; The House at Riverton (awesome); The Lake House.

Justin Cronin

The Passage was the best read of the year for us when it came out.  We’ve loaned and recommended that book to dozens of people and everyone has felt the same way.  It was the first in a trilogy, The Twelve, was the second book and was a little harder to sort through.  I had many people calling asking me what was going on, it was hard to keep the characters straight.  He has the last book in the trilogy due out The City of Mirrors, but the release date has been postponed a few times.  The Passage could definitely be read as a stand alone and you’ll be very satisfied.  It’s simply a book not to be missed!

Joe Hill

We really liked his first book Heart Shaped Box, then lost track of him as he doesn’t publish every year.  We picked up his latest book nos4a2 when it was released in paperback and if was the best book we’d read, read with the lights on, it will scare you and thrill you!  We’re anxiously waiting for his new book to be released in May The Fireman.

Greg Iles

My husband and I have loved his books from the beginning but he really found the book series he was meant to write with:  Natchez Burning and The Bone Tree.  Read them in that order, they are 2 out of 3 books in a wonderful Penn Cage series.  Anxiously awaiting the final book in the series.   Don’t be intimidated by the size of the books, you’ll tear right through them and want more as you turn the last page!

Carla Buckley

I picked up her first book The Things That Keep Us Here and boy was it a timely read.  It’s about a flu pandemic and a family that struggles to survive.  I read it just after the influenza scare H1N1 and it really makes you think.  What choices would you make if you were in that situation?  I’ve loaned that book and recommended that book to dozens of people.  Read all her books!  Invisible; The Deepest Secret; The Good Goodbye.
